This course teaches you the fundamentals of drafting.  Drafting is all about being able to see an object, and then creating "blueprints" for it (top view, front view, side view).  This type of drawing is called "orthographic projection".  There is also a certain way that drawings should be dimensioned and labeled.

Another type of drawing is called an Isometric drawing.  This is a "picture" drawing - it looks like a 3D drawing, even though it is actually a flat drawing.  Being able to draw isometric and orthographic drawings is a fundamental skill for all drafters.  No matter what type of work you do (unless it is all schematic drawing), you have to do top views, elevations, and side views.  You see these in house plans, drawings for machine parts, electrical installation diagrams, or structures.

This course is a pre-requisite for any of the Advanced Courses (Piping, Mechanical, Structural, and Electrical), unless credit has been given to you for previous training or professional experience.
