The Horn Drafting & CAD Center was the first school in Houston to offer classes to the public in Computer Aided Design. Our first CAD training started in 1982. Prior to that, we had trained over a thousand students in conventional drafting, in advanced fields such as Piping, Electrical, Mechanical, and Structural. The school, located in Houston, Texas has been run by Anthony Horn since 1968. Today we have over 3500 graduates, with many of them having good careers in major engineering firms and manufacturers, both locally and across the country.
The school is small and specializes in AutoCAD training. The school has facilities for up to fifteen students in a class, and the teaching is done one-on-one. Mr. Horn teaches all the students, and his background includes degrees in engineering and architecture, and many years of experience in drafting and design.
Anthony Horn's graduates have become drafters, designers, and engineers for a variety of Houston companies, including Kellogg Brown & Root, Lockheed Martin, Shell Oil Company, Mustang Engineering, S&B Engineering, Parsons, Technip Upstream, Aker Maritime, El Paso Field Services, ABB Lummus Global, Schaffer Industries, Bechtel, as well as many others. Self-sponsored students, who attend because they want to learn a new career, have averaged a successful employment rate of over 70% after graduating during the past 10 years.
